The test has four mandatory and one optional section. The sections are always in the same order:

English (45 minutes, 75 questions)

Math (60 minutes, 60 questions)

Reading (35 minutes , 40 questions)

Science (35 minutes, 40 questions)

Optional Essay (30 minutes, 1 question)


Total time without the essay is 3 hours, with the essay is 3.5 hours

The test is taken on a scantron answer sheet (number two pencil, bubble in your answer)

Each section mandatory section is scored on a scale of 136. A composite score between 1 and 36 is also given. It is calculated by averaging the 4 individual section scores and rounding to the nearest whole number.

The essay is scored separately and does not contribute to the composite score.
