About the ACT
The ACT is administered by ACT Education and is a competitor of the SAT.
The ACT is moving to a digital test, though a paper version is still available.
The ACT has three mandatory and two optional "subtests": English, Mathematics, Reading, Science (optional), and Writing (optional).
Scores for each section are out of 36 and are averaged for a overall score also out of 36.
