About the GRE
The GRE is administered by ETS and is used by colleges to help make admissions decisions for graduate programs.
The GRE is a digital test containing an Analytical Writing (essay) section, two Verbal Reasoning (reading) sections, and two Quantitative Reasoning (math) sections
The math and reading sections are "computer adaptive", meaning the better you do on the first section of each, the harder the respective second sections will be.
The essay is scored on a 6 point scale. The math and reading sections are each scored on a scale of 130-170, resulting in a total score between 260 and 340.
